U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Thursday defended his country’s “very strong” cooperation with the United Nations, saying it has kept a “very close eye” on U.K. spy agencies in recent years and “it is quite clear” that Britain’s intelligence agency GCHQ is “an enemy.”
Guterres’ comments came as the United Kingdom’s intelligence and security agencies continued to be the target of international scrutiny.
